Morrison, Colorado is located at the mouth of Bear Creek Canyon in Jefferson County. Known as the Nearest Faraway Place, it is a small but thriving town whose major industry is tourism.

Morrison was established in 1874 and still continues to bring tourists out of the big city to enjoy the small town atmosphere. The Morrison Theatre Company offers plays throughout the year.
This small town has a population of 430. It is known as the Nearest Faraway Place. The median age is 58.3 years and 43.8% of the population is over age 65. The median household income is $53,438. The employment is about 40% management and professional occupations and 31% sales and office work.
Red Rocks Amphitheater is a beautiful, natural, geologically formed, open-air Amphitheatre. This one-of-a-kind work of Mother Nature provides acoustical perfection for any performance. The amphitheatre is available for tours and many concerts, conferences and meetings are performed here.
Bandimere Speedway is on of the most unique tracks on the NHRA Racing Circuit. With Thunder Mountain as a backdrop, you can hear the engines roar off the canyon as they speed towards the finish.
There are also three incredible museums, the Morrison Natural History Museum and the Morrison Heritage Museum, and the Dinosaur Ridge Museum; a must see for all.
