Arvada is located just east of the Front Range of the Rocky Mountains. It is a suburb of Denver that was developed after the discovery of gold in the area in the 1850’s.
At one time, Arvada was known as the celery capital of the world. Arvada is known for its award winning parks and trail system, which links downtown to the foothills. It has one of the lowest crime rates in the Denver Metro area and prides itself on being the 12th safest city of over 75,000 residents in America.
There are over 1,300 acres available in Arvada for commercial and industrial development. The population is 102,153. This town has a median age of 37.5 and a median household income of $55,541.
The employment is split, approximately 36% are in management, professional or related fields and 32% are in sales and office occupations.
The city has 135 miles of trails running throughout the open space and parks system. They are used for things such as hiking, biking, and horseback riding. The trails offer routes in many directions throughout the city, allowing people to easily get from place to place. There are 76 parks, 8 sports complexes, and 12 recreation and city centers.
The APEX Center includes two NHL ice rinks, an indoor themed water amusement park, and a natural rock-climbing wall large enough to accommodate five climbers at one time, as well as three full-size gyms, a weight/fitness area, a seniors/adult lounge, and an open, airy design with fun Colorado mining themes, waterfalls, and natural areas.
The city’s professional theater offers consistently high-quality shows and was the winner of 6 Denver Drama Critics Circle Awards in 2001.
